i have a recitation tomorrow and i want to make sure I know what i am doing

http://class.phys.psu.edu/212Recitations/07_Circuits/DC_Circuits.pdf

ok in exercise 1, i figured the order should be B,A,C,D

i dont know if i'm right, but wouldn't less resistance mean more power? so less resistors equal more power? and parallel resistors would yield more power than resistors in a series?

part b of exercise 1

would the order be the same as well?

part2
I have no idea, i need help on this one.

I know with out a doubt that evolution happend there is no question in my mind, I even wanted to be an archeologist/paleontologist when I was a child, but when I see questions like what came first the chicken or the egg, I almost automatically think, the chicken because of the way god created all animals. I realize that, there are many conflicting things along these lines but is is possible to believe in both, even a little?

I understand that the Michelson-Morley result supports Einstein's first postulate and I understand how this postulate suggests such relativistic phenomena as time dilation and length contraction, but I read that Einstein was unaware of the Michelson-Morley result at the time of his theory's publication. So, what DID lead him to postulate the constancy of the velocity of light in vacuo???

ive drawn like a billion diagrams to model this situation but it still doesnt help. and NO, this not hw. it IS in my math textbook but im doing it as practice and not to get good grades...and hopefully you all believe me.

anyways:
two miles upstream from his starting point, a canoeist passed a log floating in the rivers current. After paddling upstream for one more hour, he finally paddled back and reached his starting point just as the log arrived. Find the speed of the current.

the part i get screwed up at is when i have to take into consideration the guy going "upsteam" so against the current which will obviously affect his speed. and downstream which will make him go faster.

oh and please show me how to solve it STEP BY STEP so i acutally KNOW how to do it.

I have no idea what in the world I'm doing.
I've missed math twice during the lecture on this, so I'm confused as to what I'm supposed to be looking for, since the book barely gives an explanation.

Somehow this: x^3-x^2+x-1 = (x-1)(x-i)(x+i)

I really want to know the whole process as to how to go about this. I've looked up and down this website already, and I see everything about roots. Would I need to find the roots to factor these?

Here are two problems from my homework that I must factor:

x^2+x+2

x^3+6x^2+11x+6

I don't even know where to start. :(
Someone please help me and guide me through this process. I have a test over this at the end of the week, and I really want to know how to do this.

Thank you soo much. :]
...If someone helps me. :(

Is there a good psychic medium on here that can talk to the dead? If anyone can give me a medium reading please reply.
