A block is hung by a string from the inside roof of a van. When the van goes straight ahead at a speed of 28 m/s, the block hangs vertically down. When the van maintains the same speed around an unbanked curve (r = 150 m), the block swings toward the outside of the curve. Then the string makes an angle with the vertical. Find this angle.

A block of mass 3.82 kg lies on a frictionless horizontal surface. The block is connected by a cord passing over a pulley to another block of mass 6.4 kg which hands in the air. Assume the cord to be light(massless and weightless) and unstretchable and the pulley to have no friction and no rotational inertia. Acceleration of gravity is 9.8 m/s^2. Calculate the acceleration of the first block? Calculate the tension in the cord answer in Newtons.
my teacher gave me an example with μ but this problem does not give us μ. I think you use this equation
(Mass2)(gravity)-ForceFriction= (masstotal)(acceleration)
Friction Force= μ (mass one)(gravity)
that is the equation i should have used except this problem does not give me μ please help.

I have approached a GM rep earlier this year at the GM building in detroit during a audition for a tv show about people who is asking for money for any reason. Any way I had talk to this person and he said to contact the engineer department. There is a trust factor, auto companies they like to rip off new tech from individuals and shaft them and call it there own. The military is just as slick. Remember the guy who made things levitate in his apartment with old surplus electronics. The military came saw and rapped his apartment of everything eventually. The guy didn't even get paid. What shall I do?
This new energy source is for real. Imagine riding in your vehicle across country from Detroit to Califronia. Need gas? never. Need to recharge at a stationary recharging port ? never. Need snacks, drinks? Yes. This is what can be in the near future with my system called the Sress. It's a real working small scale prototype. It works like it was projected to work.11 years in the making.

The question is that a mass is shot from a cannon and the end of the cannon's barrel is at a height of 6.9m. The initial velocity vi of the projectile has a horizontal component of 4.6m/s. The projectile rises to a maximum height of delta y above the end of the cannon's barrel and strikes the ground a horizontal distance delta x past the end of the cannon's barrel and the acceleration of gravity is 9.8m/s^2. I have to find the time it takes for the projectile to reach its maximum height in seconds. I used vy^2=voy^2-2g(y-yo) and I get 7.6 but it's not the right answer if someone knows what I did wrong that would be so helpful.
