Can anyone give me reasons to why the landing/walking on the moon by Neil Armstrong was faked?

There is a conspiracy. It's the one being conducted by a small number of people who want to con money out of people who are either dumb, or who just don't understand why the moon landings (ALL of them, including Apollo 11) can't possibly have been faked.

Keep giving them your attention, and keep buying their books and videos. IT's good for the economy, at least.

So are you saying that the Apollo 11 moon landing was a fake? Oh....I've heard of this. I watched a TV special not so long ago about the Apollo 11 conspiracy and heard that one of the evidence behind it was the flag. The USA flag was waving, as if wind was blowing it. But there's little or no wind on the moon, so this is impossible unless I should see other footage of other Apollo lunar missions.

A fake moon landing done by NASA to fool the world and beat the Russians in the space race is the strangest conspiracy that I've ever heard, along with the JFK assassination and the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Come on, the Apollo 11 mission was real!

It was not fake. This engineering marvel of the late 60's and early 70's really happened. As a late teen I lived and breathed the Apollo program. I knew people who personally witnessed the 363 foot Saturn 5 blasting off. Why would they make a 363 foot rocket with 7.5 million pounds of thrust from 5, F-1 engines, for nothing? Really, think about it. The Saturn 5 was designed for nothing else other than the moon program. I knew sailor buddies who were at the sites when the capsules came down and they had to get the Astronauts from the ocean. While in college we studied the moon rocks under the guidance of professors who would have laughed in your face in those days if you even suggested it was fake because they had the rocks and they were in fact from the moon. The Astronauts left gear there for measuring the moons distance. This gear had to be hand balanced so the laser beams we send from the earth can be accurately measured so we can keep track of the moons distance. It is because of this device that we know that the moon is very slowly moving away from us, not closer like we at one time thought. This is the same era that brought us the near hypersonic SR-71. This 2000 mph plus miracle was first released in 1963 as the A-12. No aircraft today still comes close to its speed. Please do not tell me it was fake because I have seen it fly. Give me a brake!!!!!!

Edit update: As for the stupid *** flag waving clam?? What the nuts don't know is, if you were watching the landing and the Astronauts on the moon like I was as a kid, then you knew that they said there was a wire in the flag to make it look as if it was waving in the air. I did not read this somewhere today, I watched it and heard the news report it in 1969.

Soviets radiotelescopes tracked the TV broadcast back to the Moon.

The official re-transmission was done through the Parkes radio telescope in Australia because the Moon was setting in USA and rising in Australia at the time of the first step for man. This means that the TV broadcast was within range of the Soviet telescopes as well.

The Soviets were well ahead in the space race at the time (first satellite, first man in space, first woman in space, first pictures of the other side of the Moon, first landing on the Moon with a probe...). If their radio telescopes had shown the signal to come from Earth or a satellite around Earth, they would have made sure the whole world would have known (and they would have continued their Moon program). The Soviets were not about to help the USA government at the time.

It wasn't faked - the moon landing on July 20 1969 was a real event.
The reason people SAY it was faked - well, that's anyone's guess. Some people just love conspiracy theories, others just like to start stories to see what people do, others are just ignorant of the science and technology of the time.

If we had faked the moon landing don't you think that the Soviets would have done just about anything in the world to prove it and discredit the USA forever?

Remember, many misdeeds are uncovered because there are people who want to see the mighty fall from grace.

No, but I can give you some compelling evidence they weren't. For instance, there is a reflector we placed on the we bounce lasers off of to measure it's orbit, relativistic effects, etc. Funny thing is, the conspiracy nuts never talk to the guys who use those lasers...
