Let w be the number of weeks you both work. The cousin earns 25 per week plus a one-time $5 bonus, so the cousin earns 25w + 5. You earn $27 per week total, so after w weeks you have 27w. This is 11 more than the other number, so
27w = 11 + (25w+5)
Solve this for w

Hello,

Let w = number of weeks worked.

Then 25w + 5 = 12w + 15w -11

so -2w = -16 so w = 8.

25*8 +5 = 12*8 + 15*8 -11

200 + 5 = 96 + 120 -11

205 = 205

Hope This Helps!

x = number of weeks you and your cousin worked.

12x + 15x = 25x + 5 + 11
27x = 25x + 16
27x - 25x = 16
2x = 16
x = 8 weeks
