Hey, please help me do this, I have to submit for marks and I have no clue what to do.

A section road, represented by the line y = x + 2 with x =< 0 is to be connected to another section of road, represented by y = 2 - x with x >= 2, by means of a curved section of road, represented by a cubic curve y = ax^3 + bx^2 + cx + d, so that the resulting connected road has no sharp corners. Find the required values of a, b, c and d. In other words find a, b, c and d such that the function f(x) is differentiable, where:

f(x) = x + 2 where x =< 0
ax^3 + bx^2 + cx + d where 0 =< x =< 2
2 - x where x >= 2

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Back in the 70's, Astronomy or Sky & Telescope magazine advirtised a "wind up" camera clock drive that I believe was German built and used to track stars, planets, etc. It was supposibly pretty acturate and wasn't that expensive (I bought one but, have long forgot what happened to it). Does anyone remember the name of it or if they still make them? Is there anywhere on the internet that has a picture of this?

(I hate to repost this, as I'm sure there is some rule against it, and for that I do apologize. I'm only doing it because I don't have a great deal of time left to complete the assignment, and I didn't receive a great deal of answers last time (but the answers were excellent may I add, so thank you!!!))

I'm writing this report on the physics behind computers throughout history, and I'm not quite sure what to put next... So far I've written about:

~ Thermionic Emission - Used in the old-fashioned vacuum tubes by using heat to emit electrons.
~ Transistors - Basically put what they are and how they work.
~ Magnetic Core Memory - Explaining how information is stored in the hard drive of the computer.

Any more ideas would be excellent!
