The simple answer to your question is no.
"It was all done in holleywood with special affects"???
Well, think of what your friend believes was faked:
1. Seven launches of 305-foot tall rockets in front of thousands of spectators;
2. Days of footage of the astronauts in weightless conditions;
3. Scientists on Earth studying rocks that they know could not have come from this planet (unless you think they were in on it too);
4. Footage of the stages of the rockets being released and falling towards Earth;
5. Thousands of personnel in the launch centre and the tracking stations around the world, who were tracking SOMETHING (unless you believe that they were all actors and have kept it a secret for nearly 40 years, including the ones who have been on their deathbeds in that time).
6. All the moonwalk and the landings and launches, at a time when computers and movie-making weren't even mentioned together. The movie technology was NOTHING like today,
And that's just the tip of the iceberg from someone who isn't an expert. There were seven missions intended to land, and six successful landings. You friend seems to think that the only record of the whole thing is a few minutes of grainy TV footage.

The trips were real. In the case of the Moon, they took place in the late 1960s, when the Soviet Union was not very friendly towards the USA. The Sovet Union had been winning the space race up to then (first satellite, first man in space, first woman in space, first picture of the other side of the Moon, first soft landing on the Moon of a probe).
When TV images were being sent from the Moon by the US astronauts, they were received on radio telescopes. The Soviets had very good radio telescopes. It is very easy, with these things, to know the direction from which the signal is coming.
If they had had any indication that the landings (any single one of them) were faked, they would have made a big case out of it.
As it is, only US flatlanders are still trying to push the idea that the Moon landings were faked.
---
The TV images of the first steps (Armstrong) were seen in Australia a few seconds before USA because the signal came in through the Parkes radiotelescope in Australia.
---
The Mars rovers are real. We have not had any person on Mars yet, only these tiny robots on wheels.

No. Trips to the Moon and Mars are real...
Some people still think the Earth is flat and that it's the center of the universe.
When somebody tells you something that seems kind of weird, ask them what makes them think that. Usually they have none. Rather, they try to call into question the evidence that they're wrong. And it's usually kind of dumb stuff.. like, "There's no wind on the Moon. So how does the flag look like it's flying in the breeze?" They know it's braced in that position.

personally i say its a bunch of crap. Its pretty obvious proof and evedence of them actually going and also we all know the Gov't has lied to us and keep secrets but wouldn't you think something this big by now would be leaked out the media would have it and i am certain it would make the news.
LOL.. so i didnt see em go nor meet em up there for dinner but my money says yes they went.

No. they imagine the commute, Hubble, and robots on Mars are totally interior united states's skills. and some imagine united states faked in basic terms the first of the Moon landings. The doubters were close up by technique of photos from Moon orbit showing astronauts' footpaths; yet they are questioning confusing of a few thanks to describe them! they are going to come back to us.

We have put men on the moon, but not on Mars. We have put 'rovers on Mars though, and President Bush would like to see a manned mission to Mars by 2015.

moon trips, real
mars trips... fake only because there have been no manned missions to mars. although Discovery Channel Canada had a 2 episode series showing what it would be like and the pros and cons of going to mars

12 humans have landed on the moon.
But none have landed on Mars (where did your friend get that idea - maybe a movie he saw)?
And believe it or not, back in 1969 Hollywood didn't have the special effects and CGI that everyone takes for granted today.

We have never claimed to go to Mars and yes, the Moon landing was fake.
* Who took the picture of the astronaut taking the first step on the moon?
* Why was the American flag moving on the moon if there is no air on the Moon?
