nobody today would exist right? There would be different people right now other than everyone here right now. This has been on my mind for a while. Who agrees that this is real, lets just say again that Rome never fell, none of us would be here right now right? So, the littlest things can change time? IDK I'm bored and I want to see what you guys think. Thanks!

All right, this is a question that I've wondered about for a while but never devoted the brain cells to answering...

Say you already have a stockpile of incandescent lamps (i.e. light bulbs) in the basement. Is it more cost efficient in the long run to burn your current stockpile of incandescents or go out and purchase compact fluorescent lamps? (Assume that the fixtures in question are used less than two hours per day.)

Also, please answer as to winter usage v. summer usage. (Meaning, during winter a 100 watt incandescent lamp will help to heat your house more than the equivalent light output of a compact fluorescent), plus the electricity rate in winter tends to be lower than summer.

Thank you in advance for your well-thought-out and mathematically and engineering sound responses. Please also take into account future value v. present value of money. And no, this is not a homework problem. Only a mind as demented as mine could come up with this.

My brother-in-law was diagnosed with an aneurysm about a year ago. it was (4?) centimeters(or something like that). They said if it got to (5), he was in danger and would need surgery. It is now at 5 and they are saying he needs vascular surgery. He goes to physicians. I just want some info about what this all entails and means?
I understand it means if it ruptures, he could die. He is a wonderful man and I would hate to see anything but good happen to him.

An equation of 5x+6y-3=0 is given and it wants me to find an x,y coordinate that is closest to -1, -7

I changed it over to slope form y = 1/2 - 5/6x
would I need to find the perpendicular and go from there?
and use y - y1 = m (x - x1) ?
and then re-input it back to the original formla?

Or is there a better way to do this?
