A baseball (m = 154 g) approaches a bat horizontally at a speed of 40.6 m/s (90.8 mi/h) and is hit straight back at a speed of 54.0 m/s (121 mi/h). If the ball is in contact with the bat for a time of 1.03 ms, what is the average force exerted on the ball by the bat? Neglect the weight of the bat, since it is so much less than the force of the bat. Choose the direction of the incoming ball as the positive direction.

1) A 10 mL sample of HCl solution was transferred by pipet to an Erlenmeyer flask and then diluted by adding about 40 mL of distelled water. What is the approximate H3O+ concentration and pH of the solution in the flask before the titration begins? (approx concentration of HCl is 0.5 M)

2) Phenolphthalein indicator was added, and the solution in the flask was titrated with 0.215 M NaOH until the indicator turned pink (pH = 8-9). The exact volume of NaOH required was 22.75 mL. Use the following equation to calculate the concentration of HCl in the original 10 mL sample ==>

Mb x Vb = nMa x Va

Mb = molarity of standadrd base solution
Vb = volume of base added
n = mole ratio
Ma = unknown molarity of acid solution
Va = initial volume of acid solution

3) One student accidentally "overshot" the endpoint and added 23.90 mL of 0.215 M NaOH. Is the calculated concentration of HCl likely to be too high or too low as a result of this error? Why?

please help ASAP! thanks so much!

A 2.00 kg block is held in equilibrium on an incline of angle = 60° by a horizontal force applied in the direction of the increasing incline. If the coefficient of static friction between block and incline is µs = 0.300, determine the following.:

(a) the minimum value of force/vector F: ____ N
(b) the normal force exerted by the incline on the block: ____ N

Would somebody kindly show me how to do this, step by step, and show your work and the answer? I'm stuck.

I believe that time is not infinite. It is mearly a concept devised by man as a way of recording and tracking the events of the pass. If every thing was wiped uot and nothing existed then there would be no events to record...thus the end of time.Time would not go on if there was nothing because there would be no one to record that period of nothingness... wich is why time began with the big bang(says man) because no one can even guess what the univerce was like befor then.

A physics book slides off a horizontal table top with a speed of 1.05 . It strikes the floor after a time of 0.370 . Ignore air resistance.

-Find the height of the table top above the floor.
-Find the vertical component of the book's velocity just before the book reaches the floor.
-Find the magnitude of the book's velocity just before the book reaches the floor.
-Find the direction of the book's velocity just before the book reaches the floor.(an angle)

I found the horizontal distance from the edge of the table to the point where the book strikes the floor to be 0.389 m, and the horizontal component of the book's velocity to be 1.05m/s

but i can't figure out the rest....please help
