If you want to solve for x, Isolate the x-terms and divide.
3x + mx = 6y
x(3 +m) = 6y

x = 6y/(3+m) if m≠ -3

3x - 5y = y - mx

Add 5y to both sides

3x = 6y - mx

Divide by three

x = (6y/3) - (mx/3)
