Time is just a method of measuring so its like saying would measurement cease to exist which is a bit silly really

No, time would also be ripped apart, along with the universe, becoming as "dispersed" as the matter in the ripped universe (whatever that means for time).
Ripping the universe "apart" requires the universe to have more dimensions than the 3 we can see (or 3+1 in the spacetime continuum). Otherwise, "ripping" makes no sense.
M-Theory considers the possibility of rips in the "fabric" of space-time and some Japanese cosmologist found a neat 6-dimension way of protecting us (and time) from these rips. Not something he would use to save us; something that nature does automatically using 6 of the un-expanded dimensions. This, he and colleagues say, is why a cosmological theory needs at least 9 dimensions to be useful (they also have other reasons, of course).
The natural repair mechanism would also call for time (like anything else in the universe) to be quantised -- meaning to come in packets: there would be, physically, such a thing as a smallest unit of time.
There already is mathematically: it is called Planck's time. However, this mathematical concept simply says that we cannot know what goes on within a shorter unit of time; it does not say that it cannot exist.
Time is very difficult to explain by itself. It would appear, according to some versions, that time is the result of the existence of matter. No matter = no time = no universe.
(Some mathematical solutions to Relativity allow empty universes, so don't bet your entire paycheck on the above).

time and space are part of the same fabric....einsteins theory of realativity. so your right in a sense, you cant have one without the other. however you are wrong about something...there is no need for someone or something to record time. it would still exist whether anything was here to record it or not. you just cant have time without space and you cant have space without time. its like light and dark, you wouldnt be able to define one without the concept of the other.

most of us think that time is just something thought up by man, so did i, until i read Einsteins theory of relativity. it pretty much says that time and space are the same thing, called spacetime, and his theory has been tested and proved to be true.
and if you ripped the fabric of spacetime time would still exist, but it would be jumbled and messed up because it would exist as it used to on each piece of space.

in case you want to take the attitude that your existence ends on the 2d of your dying, then the universe could end present for you. i think of what you're attempting to assert is what could happen if all of humanity grew to become thoroughly extinct, or if the earth have been thoroughly destroyed, could the universe existed for the reason that no smart existence style could be looking upon it. nicely, the single concern could be that, in step with danger there are different smart existence types in this universe. additionally, upload to it that the universe isn't each thing. The universe isn't limitless, this is finite. in case you persist with the theories proposed by ability of technological know-how, the great Bang is OUR universes origins, meaning that there is in basic terms lots mass & potential, hence there is in basic terms lots distance it could cover. in actuality, in case you analyze the universe, you will see that for the period of many billion sof years from now, the universe will journey a "dying," only like stars do. at last the celebs will lose their gas and the universe would be no longer something. The universe itself would quite die, and strengthen right into a soup of decayed atoms and debris. That being suggested, that's to no longer say that yet another universe isn't happening someplace else in our existence, or in step with danger something different than a universe, and via this place, in step with danger the regulations wil lbe ddifferent and in step with danger existence will strengthen, and in step with danger smart existence will strengthen and in step with danger situations would be suitable adequate for those human beings to evolve in techniques we in no way ought to, and then poof there could be an eternal technology which could harness their universe and save it from self-destructing and for that reason there will be human beings appreciating existence. in case you suspect in technological know-how, then you certainly understand this universe is gonna die, yet different places exterior of it is going to pass on.

Time is a man- made concept.
Eistein's relativity theory was a huge step toward letting everyone here a least a glimpse of what he though was truly happening, and it turns out he was correct.
Time, matter and space are all intertwined; they are all related.
If you remove mankind from the equation, time and space would still go on.
Insofar as the 'multiverse' theory I took your question to relate to, idk, man...IDK.
Your guess is as good as mine.

id go along with that, simply for the fact that, when a person dies, all time stops for them but continues on elsewhere, if the universe was "torn apart" then time would stop for we would sease to exist, but matter would continue on wihtout us...rather uneventfully, but it would continue on
