A polygon is a closed plane figure made up of three or more straight line segments.

If all the sides and angles are equal, then the polygon is said to be a regular polygon. A regular polygon can be circumscribed by a circle. The center of the circumscribing circle is also the center of the regular polygon. The distance from the center of a regular polygon perpendicular to one of its sides is calle the apothem. The area of a regular polygon is equal to 1/2 its perimeter times the apothem.

Polygon is a three or more sided figure. pentagon, hexagon, decagon, octagon, etc. Regular- all sides equal.
