Can anyone help? I need the answer to these questions:

1) Solve, then state if conditional, inconsistent, or an identity equation.
1/2b-1/2=1/4b
I did this to answer so far... but I'm not sure if I did it right:
4(1/2b-1/2=1/4b)4
4/4b-4/4=1/4b
4/4b-4/4b-4/4=1/4b-4/4b
-4/4= -3/4b
-1=-3/4b, 1=3/4b Is that right?

1-propanol ..... CH3CH2CH2OH
1-heptanol ..... CH3CH2CH2CH2CH2CH2CH2OH

I said 1-propanol because it's intermolecular forces are stronger, due to its shorter chain (which over-rides 1-heptanol's stronger dispersion forces). Am I right?

How do you find that formula?
It was stated that the formula is related to the Pythagoras Theory. How come? Can someone explain?

I know that as I shift the load from chain lift #1 to chain lift #2 there will be a greater load on the chain lifts because of the angles at which the load is hanging . In order to make a safe move I want to know how to calculate the loads at any angle. Which trig function do I use?

I need help with these two problems, please.

Find all points having an x-coordinate of -21 whose distance from the point (-5, -14) is 34.

A hot air balloon is headed due east at an average speed of 6mph at a constant altitude of 190 feet as it crosses an intersection. Find an expression for the distance in d (in feet) from the balloon to the intersection "t" seconds later.

Thank you so much!!

Two charges are placed as shown in the figure (a right triangle with the right angle at point P). The distance between charges is 13.0 cm. Point P is 5.0 cm from the charge q1 and 12.0 cm from the charge q2. The magnitude of is 3.00uC , but its sign and the value of the charge q2 are not known. The direction of the net electric field at point P is entirely in the negative y-direction.

Determine the magnitude of the electric field.
