hens, when nesting like to feel they are well hidden from preditors. They will nest in very tall grass or brush piles. If you have them in a penned area build them boxes with the entrances where it seems small to them and put in some hay

As hens can not fly they built their nest on land only ...near river...or at some place full of grass to hide eggs...from ..predators......i am talking about wild hens...and not one which is grown for commercial purpose....ok

Like most flightless birds, hens too build their nest in a secret place away from predators like snakes. They build it mostly in small shrubs away from trees to prevent their eggs from snakes & to provide the chicks with worms & insects.

Dear friend, all female species of birds are called 'Hen'. I think you mean, the birds commonly known as 'fowl' or 'poultry'. They do not build nests. The eggs are laid in open.
