We all start dying the moment we are born.
Everything ends someday.
Even stars, (which, by the way, are not alive).
And yes, the Moon is receeding from Earth at a rate of ~4cm/yr.

Yes, the universe is expanding, the stars and the galaxies will eventually use all their fuel, and the light will go out of the Universe. As the eons pass the dead suns will lose their heat and in the most distant future, matter itself will disolve into nothingness.

Here's a citation to an article which you should read. Go to your local library, since I don't feel like pasting it. Hopefully they'll have EBSCOHOST to bring it up on the computer. Mindblowing.

The future of the universe. By: Adams, Fred C., Laughlin, Gregory, Sky & Telescope, 00376604, Aug98, Vol. 96, Issue 2

They also wrote a book:

The Five Ages of the Universe: Inside the Physics of Eternity, (F. Adams and G. Laughlin)

Unfortunately I suspect that since you are posting a question like this on this website, which basically presents blurbs of information, you won't go any further. A genuine pity if that is true. This is really an important question.

It is difficult to merge science with religion due to it's differing opinions. Nevertheless, there is always a way. Everything that has a beginning, always has an end. Whether it is about the moon or the stars or different organims including man himself is finite. It is obviously a mystery in religion, but a known and accepted fact in science. Whether or not you find the answer to this question, it's just a matter of having "LOGICAL and REALISTIC FAITH", because where science fails, faith normally succeeds.

Everything in the universe "slows down." It's called entropy.
