By the common intuitive meaning of multiplication we can see that

4 * 3 = 3 + 3 + 3 + 3

It can also be seen that for a non-zero x
x = 1 + 1 + ........+ 1 ( x terms )

Now we multiply through by x
x^2 = x + x +.............+ x ( x terms )

Then we take the derivative with respect to x
2x = 1 + 1 + ...............+ 1 ( x terms )

Now we see that the right hand side is x which gives us
2x = x

2 = 1

I have used many equations to try to solve this problem but I still am far from the correct answer.
Here is the problem:

A theif runs out of a store he has robbed, and runs down the street at 10km/hr. 6 minutes later the guard wakes up and starts chasing the robber at 14km/hr.
A. How far does the theif get in 6 minutes? - i got 1km.
B. How long does it take for the guard to catch up with the theif?
C. How far from the store are they when he is caught?
D. What is the guard's average velocity from when the theif leaves until he is caught?

ok, so I watched the movie "the secret" and at irst i thought it was BS, but i said I was gunna try it. So i began trying it with little things, and so did my husband. And it has been working 90% of the time. Like today at work, my boss gave me $20 at the end of the day and went to leave, I looked at him and thought to myself that he wanted to give me another $10. He kept stopping in his path and looking back at me, and then he left. So i just went back to working, then about 10 mins later he came back and gave me $10. Do you think it worked?
