Distribute right side
x + 3/2 = 3/4x - (3/4)*1/2
x + 3/2 = 3/4x - 3/8

Get x tems all on the left side by subtracting both sides by 3/4 x

x + 3/2 - 3/4x = 3/4x - 3/8 - 3/4x
1/4x + 3/2 = -3/8

Get constant terms all on the right side by subtracting 3/2 from both sides

1/4x + 3/2 - 3/2 = -3/8 - 3/2
1/4x = -3/8 - 12/8
1/4 x = -15/8

Need to eliminate the 1/4 next to the x, so we
multiply both sides by 4

4(1/4x) = 4(-15/8)
x = -15/2

Check answer:
Plug into Left side:
(-15/2) + 3/2 = -12/2 = -6

Plug into Right side:
3/4(-15/2-1/2) = 3/4 (-16/2) = -6

Come on guys, it's not that hard, if you want to follow the second guy:

First, multiple both sides by 4/3:

4/3x +12/6 =x-1/2

4/3x - x = -1/2 - 2

1/3x = -5/2

Multiple both sides by 3:

x = -15/2

Same answer if you do it right!

multiply eq. by 4 to clear fractions

4*x+4*3/2=4*3/4(x-1/2)
4x+6=3(x-1/2)

distribute
4x+6=3x-3/2

multiply by 2 to clear fractions

2*4x+2*6=2*3x-2*3/2
8x+12=6x-3

subtract 6x from both sides

2x+12=-3

subtract 12 from both sides

2x = -15

divide both sides by 2

x=-15/2

First, multiple both sides by 4/3:

4/3x +12/6 =x-12

Then start to sort the equation, put the x on one side, the numbers on the other, substract both sides by X, add both sides by 2 (i.e. 12/6)

4/3x - x = -12 - 2

1/3x = -14

Multiple both sides by 3:

x = -42

I tried 3 methods - one of the answers was the first guy who answered, the 2nd one was the 2nd guy who answered and my third answer was 4.375. :/
