My teacher rejected my other idea of plant cloning because we are not allowed to clone. Do you have any ideas of what I can do? I enjoy a challenge, so I need a project idea that would be at least a little difficult.

I am in the 11th grade and go to an International Baccalaureate high school, so I definitely won't be doing a volcano. It will be sent somewhere in the world to be graded as my extended essay, which is why I need a more advance project idea.

2. volcano w/ baking soda vinegar (easy)
3. prove that you can build a time machine? (priceless)

Grow a plant (I am partial to green peppers or tomatoes.) that will only do well under particular conditions, like proper nutrition & proper sunlight. Grow it under several other conditions as well. Place them side-by-side on your display table. Explain the nutrition of each plant & the sunshine given to each plant.
Not knowing what grade you are in makes the suggestions difficult. If college level, distill oil from a nut or seed & run the results through a GC/Mass Spec. I did pumpkin seeds as my seed in college botany laboratory. It was very unique and I earned an easy A+.

You arent allowed to clone? Why not? All you need to do is take a clipping and put it in water.
How about the affect of gama rays on Man-in-the-moon marigolds?

I built a crystal radio and got it to work. Picked up WBZ in Boston which was about 60 miles from where I lived in NH.
At the time it was awesome.

i personally am all ways a fan of Tesla's Death ray but if you cant get all the parts to make one you might just want to stick with a Tesla coil or a Jacobs latter anything that shoots lighting and electricity is alot of fun
