I am confused about it. I've heard about the theory that the 'world will end' in december 2012 but is that true? Is there real evidence that it will? If the world really WOULD end in 2012, how?
Just because Maiyans(spelling?) didn't go up to 2012 in their predicted calendar, does that really mean the world will end? That all the humans will die? What if, you know, suposevly, the Mayans(spelling?) simply didn't have enough time and didn't want to waste THEIR life predicting ours?
Please answer. With detail and thought. I would love to have a conversation with someone who knows this stuff. Thank you.

A 4.00 L sample of gas at 250 degrees celsius and 0.790 atm condenses to give 1.20 mL of liquid; 600 J of heat is released during the process. What is the enthalpy of vaporization of the compound? I'm not sure how to approach this problem because volume is given in it and I don't know if there is a certain equation I should use. Showing the steps on how to solve this problem would greatly be appreciated, Thank You.

Of course I've heard of ectoplasm or whatever it's called, but is there any truth or physical evidence of it's existence? I have heard that ectoplasm refers to the outer lining of a cell, but that was on Bones, and while Bones has a tendancy to be truthful in many aspects, I just wanted to make sure.

Could some other organism from some other planet faaaar far away, farther than our telescopes or robots could reach, somehow find us, and come to us in some "spaceship".. and appear for a while, and then leave without a trace?

I mean, it can't even be PROVEN.

And don't they have to breathe or.. live off of something? And why would they come to earth.. if they won't even communicate with "humans" or other organisms on earth.. if that's basically the only special thing ABOUT earth in the first place.

question is based on my last question and all the tremendously insightful answers I received (same category, 2 days ago). We are directly changing our environment; we are unique in that respect. Could Nature fight back like our bodies do when infected (natural selection)? Could our accomplishments result in our ultimate demise? Is this philosophy? Am I weird?
