The pill was loose in a small compartment of my purse with broken up cigarettes, probably in there for a week. I forgot this, and took the pill. Do you think the nicotine could permeate the coating and be inside the pill? Or would washing it off, eliminate any ingestion of nicotine? I know nothing about the chemistry or makeup of tablets so I dont know if it would just be on the outside, in the coating, or somehow inside the tablet now.

we have a group project in physics... we're supposed to make a racing car using a mouse trap... it's almost done, we will just design it and it's alright.. but our problem is it won't travel that long... it only goes until the length of a table... and we will have a racing competition using it... sometimes it's not working, it's not running... what should we do with the mouse trap to make it work?? please help... our deadline is on friday, we have only 3 days left...

This is a two-part question. First, why is it that when you turn on a fluorescent bulb it flickers before it fully glows as compared to an incandescent bulb that glows instantly when you turn it on? And second, is somebody working on a fluorescent bulb that doesn't flicker before fully glows?

Let's say there's an anthole; 6000 ants live there. There's a picnic, and 1500 ants are sent out to gather as much as they can. This guy sees all these ants, and sprays this can of bug-spray, and kils all 1500 of them.
It's a huge loss for the anthole. In this case:

Can the ants count?
Do they notice they've lost a quarter of their colony?
Do they grieve?

I know elephants grieve the death of their fellow elephants. What about ants?

1. patient was implanted with a pacemaker 2 years ago.
2. 2D echocardiogram was performed recently
3. the sonographer was surprised that there was a pacemaker, since the patient stated only during the proceedure that he has a pacemaker.
4. Human error may be a factor but please enlighten me if it can be detected.

Reason for this inquiry is that I would like to know if it is indeed detectable by 2D echo why was it missed if the one who performed the proceedure was surprised there was a pacemaker and didn't see it. Thanks

So is a black hole basically like a round black door in space?
or is it like an orb into which nothing can escape?
Could we even see it because of the fact that no light is emitted from it and that it basically kills all light around it?
