The pill was loose in a small compartment of my purse with broken up cigarettes, probably in there for a week. I forgot this, and took the pill. Do you think the nicotine could permeate the coating and be inside the pill? Or would washing it off, eliminate any ingestion of nicotine? I know nothing about the chemistry or makeup of tablets so I dont know if it would just be on the outside, in the coating, or somehow inside the tablet now.

A tablet of Ibuprofen or a cigarette does not cost you much. you should have easily thrown them out.

However the little nicotine content will not affect much and it will be washed away. You need not worry. The basic composition of Ibuprofen will not change by tobacco. -
