Ratio 1
21 : 8
210 : 80

Ratio 2
x :10
8x : 80

8x = 210
x = 210 / 8
x = 105 / 4

If the first part of the first ratio is 21/2, then x = 26.25 (26 1/4)

If it's 2 1/2, then x = 6.25 (6 1/4)

A proportion is a name we give to a statement that two ratios are equal. It can be written in two ways:

two equal fractions
a/b = c/d
or,
using a colon,
a:b = c:d
When two ratios are equal, then the cross products of the ratios are equal.
That is, for the proportion,
a:b = c:d, a * d = b * c
So by substituing, we get
21/2 : 4 = x:10, 21/2 * 10 = 4x
So x = 25/4

is it 21/2 (21 divided by 2) or is it 2 1/2 (two and a half)? because the 2 and 1 is written without space between them. if it's 2 1/2, x = 25/4 or 6.25 or 6 1/4
if it's 21/2, x = 105/4 or 26.25 or 26 1/4
there you go.
