Let me have some fun on this by presuming I am an ant. As an ant I would probably say:

" My dear human friends, can we just be friends? Let us have some mutual agreement: Just spare us a little sugar and promise we won't barge into your homes. You are big and we ants are small. Though we are strong, yet in your hands we won't live long. Please spare our short-lived life. Thanks for the sweets."
