If a patient had overdosed on a drug with pKa = 9.5 (a weak acid), would it be better to adjust the patients urinary pH to be ~8 or ~4 . Why?

If it's pH = 8, the weak acid drug will react to form a soluble salt, and (hopefully) be dealt with by the kidneys. If pH = 4, it will help to increase the concentration of the drug in the blood, which is not, perhaps, in the patient's best interests...
