y=3/(x-7)
y(x-7) = 3
x-7 = 3/y
x = 3/y+7
x = (3+7y)/y

y = 3(x - 7)

The distributive property

y = 3x - 21

Transpose 21

y + 21 = 3x - 21 + 21

y + 21 = 3x

Divide both sides of the equation by 3

y / 3 + 21 / 3 = 3x / 3

y / 3 + 21 / 3 = x

1/3y + 7 = x
