Could it be that a male who could reproduce quickly while the female was still sleeping and this less able to reject his advances might have better reproductive chances? Or could it be that the rested body having had time to produce sperm was fitter for reproduction? Any other theories?

Hey. If some of you have seen my recent posts you will know that i have been working of the volume of a cylinder. The length was 1.1m and the diamter was 90cm.

From doing the calculations i got the answer 699435 or 0.699435 etc, varies if i convert. In my book the anwer is 0.70m3. Could it be 0.7m3? I was wondering how to i round off the anwer i got from my calculations? From the book i have been learning from i've only used rounding off when given how many decmal places to move, but it doesn't tell me here. Why do i convert it into metres? Is it because metres are larger than centimetres? Please could you give me a guide like answer on to how to anwer these questions in a maths exam.

Also most importantly if i was in an exam i had the exact question could i put 699435m3 etc. as my anwer or has it got to be 0.70m3? Would an examiner whilst marking my paper give me no marks becuase i didn't round off? How do i know when to round off and not to?

Please help. Thank you.

Forest fires are at present raging and sweeping across Greece uncontrollably. Villages have to be evacuated and some historic sites such as Mt Olympia are also threatened.

However, how can villages and historic sites be threatened by forest fires? Are they not outside the forest and far away? For example, can New York or Las Vegas be threatened by forest fires? Surely not, isn't it?

So why must villages be evacuated? I don't understand.

School starts tomorrow, and this one problems has been driving me crazy all summer.

Some cylindrical pool has 2292 gallons of water, 5 feet in depth, and I need to find the radius. But to use the formula (V=pi*r^2*h), I need the volume, and gallons don't work with feet, right? I Googled how to convert gallons to cubic feet, and i got 306.395 ft^3. I should be using that data, right?

I've never had to convert gallons to cubic feet, and nowhere in the packet does it show you how. Am I thinking to much about this, or were my instincts correct?
