ok so the problem is x^2-4x-5 (factor the trinomial)
this is my work:
i multiplied -5 by 1 and got -5 and then:
(x^2+1x)-(5x-5)
x(x+1)-5(x-1)
(x-5) + ?
my book says the answer is (x-5)(x+1). my question is why did they choose the x+1 over the x-1???

Did we really land on the moon????

Back then there no computers as advanced as the ones now. Somehow with the technology of that time we were able to get all the way over there.
Today we have all these hi-tech computer, yet we can't even get the shuttle up in orbit without all the problems.

How can I believe almost a half a century ago we landed on the moon if we can't even get a shuttle into into orbit right?

So I woke up last night to watch the lunar eclipse and it got me wondering. A Lunar eclipse happens when the shadow of the earth passes over them moon, but isn't that the same thing as what we're seeing in the multiple phases of the moon? i.e. quarter moon, half moon, full moon etc.?

My fiance' will be graduating college in December wih a degree in Architectural Engineering. He would like to earn his Professional Engineering license, and would have to work under a professional engineer for 5 years. The problem is that he wants to go into construction management, and he feels that he won;t be able to find a company that will have what he needs to eanr his P/E so he may have to work in another field for 5 years just to earn it. Is this true? Or are there construction companies (residential or commercial mainly, but industrial if all else fails) that have professional engineers on staff? Especially in the Atlanta, GA or Charlotte, NC area?

Please, serious answers only by those who know what I am talking about.
