because its a vaccuum is should suck all the air from your body which would cause your organs to collapse, but because there is no pressure in space, a sudden change from a pressurized environment should make you burst. Then if your in empty black space it would be so cold you should freeze instantly, if you were near a star there would be immense radation and heat...so many ways to die, what would kill you first? What else could/would happen to your body?

Stands of aspen trees often are a series of genetically identical individuals, with each succeeding tree growing from the severed shoot of another tree. Using what you've learned of genetics in this chapter, would you expect one aspen tree in a stand to differ greatly from another in its phenotype? Would you expect each to look exactly like the next in terms of phenotype? Evaluate.

Hi, in my physics book (serway) they say "dimensions can be treated as algebraic quantities" but I don't understand this very well. If I sum meters I get meters, if I multiply meters I think I get meters^2 because the area of a rectangle is b.h. But if, for instance, I multiply seconds.seconds I don't uderstand why I get sec^2.

Algebraically x.x = x^2 but x represent a a number not time, weight, etc.

I see it like 3 apples x 2 apples = 6 apples^2.

Probably I'm getting this wrong, Could you help me to understand this right please?

Excuse me if my english isn't very clear.

On some of my pears on the pear tree, there is this odd growth on it. It's kinda of like dandelions I guess, I don't know how to describe it. Out of like 20 pears on the tree we picked today, we saw 2 pears that that were still on the branches that had this super weird white growth on it. It's fuzzy & white like dandelions, but super tiny like needles coz it's got a white fuzzy head & the bottom is thin like a needle stuck into the pear. Now if it was a patch of this weird fuzzy growth, I wouldn't be so freaked out, the weird thing about this is that, it's not a patch or a line of this weird growth that looks like white needles stuck to the pears, but it grows lined up in a perfect spiral shape about 1 inch wide...!!!!!!! These white fuzzy needles grow away out of the pears about a half inch off the surface of the pears...weird. Does anyone know what this could be??? Is my 15+yr pear tree infected with some weird disease or something? Or contaminated by an insect? Thanks!

Why is that burning coal can release more energy that just burning mere dry wood?

is it because hydrocarbons are formed only after exposure to heat, pressure and bacterial activities for millions of years?

What's the difference in the chemical composition of wood and coal?

Thanks!

From the USA Jupiter can be seen as a bright "star" to the south-southwest. Below it is a fairly bright, orangeish star. That's Antares. Take a look at the bottom of this website for a comparison of Antares to our own sun ==>

I found these on a trip to Cape Cod, Massachusetts. A man at the shore said they are periwinkles but I looked up periwinkles online and found several kinds and this looks different to me.

I've seen web vids of people using green lasers to pop balloons from a short distance. I've seen some 5mw, 532nm green laser pointers that run anywhere from $10-$20 on ebay. Would those be able to to do this? How close would I have to be to pop a balloon? Also, how does a 5mw differ from a 10 or a 15? Thanks.
