From the USA Jupiter can be seen as a bright "star" to the south-southwest. Below it is a fairly bright, orangeish star. That's Antares. Take a look at the bottom of this website for a comparison of Antares to our own sun ==>

Did you forget the link? Also, Antares is a red giant, our sun is scheduled to be in that phase for a few more billion years.
