According to astrophysicists the universe is expanding. It has also been stated that the universe can collapse within itself causing a reversal of the big bang. Then another big bang will ensue once the matter has condensed. So if we are in a constant state of expanding and collapsing then doesn’t this give substance to the argument that the universe is eternal? Furthermore, if the universe is eternal then how can time exist? Does this seem preposterous or is it possible we are living in falsehood bounded by a framework that does not exist? Please be serious, as if this were true the entire human race would have to reevaluate how they perceive reality.

I really like the design aspect of engineering and i might try to do that. However, i have heard lately that alot of companies want engineers with a masters degree. Is this correct? I really dont see myself going to grad school, atleast not soon. Right now, i dont really have the grades to get in. If i were to go to grad school, i would want to go to the school im attending now, but they want a 3.0 to get it, but i dont have that.

Has anyone tried to grow plants from the moon material returned from the Apollo missions? Obviously, the moon has no appreciable atmosphere to do this but if a dome were placed on the surface of the moon, would plants grow? If they would, then could the moon soil sustain farming?

Speed of light: The maximum speed an object can have, and its impossible to go faster.
Relativity: For example, a train is moving at 60 mph, you are on the train and throw a rock from the front in the direction of travel at 10 mph. Relative to the ground, the rock is traveling at 70 mph.

Problem: We assume there is a zero velocity point in the universe, say the exact middle or the place of the big bang or whatever, and that the universe is always expanding, therefore has a positive velocity in some direction outward. If the Earth is moving away from the center of the universe at 0.5 times the speed of light and we launch a satellite in the same direction at 0.75 times the speed of light, it should be going at 1.25 times the speed of light from the perspective of the zero velocity point. How is this possible if the speed of light is the maximum that any object can travel?

Do any scientists have any idea when and if the universe ends?
Surely there cannot be something that goes on and on with no end. Its bothered me for a while that it cant be possible for it to stretch out to nothingness. if you travel far enough, there must be an end. but what would this end be? a wall? a forcefield, or another universe? Its really confusing
does anyone have any sensible ideas?

I am 36 weeks, 2 days pregnant. I had preeclampsia with my other child & now I am showing signs of it again. I went to the doctor today & my bloodpressure was 138/90. Although it's not quite hypertensive, it's higher than normal. No protein in my urine but I have had other signs- swelling that never fully goes away & I get swollen very quickly from the slightest thing- just being up & walking around the house or doing a small household task. I have been laying down most of the time, the doctor hasn't put me on bedrest though. I also have had 2 very bad headaches in the last 2 weeks that each lasted between 14-16 hours before going away (after taking tylenol 4 times). I also gained 6 lbs in the last 2 weeks, I'm assuming from fluid retention, as I have not been overeating. The doctor is concerned & feels that he may have to deliver my baby early. He told me to go to the hospital this weekend if it gets worse...but I'm wondering how am I supposed to be the judge of that?!
