Believe it or not, its not much. We share 98% of our genetic code with chimpanzees.
What distinquishes us is our large brain which can reason and adapt to changing situations. We not only can develope and use tools, but can develope new tools for new situations. On top of this, our spine is connected to the base of the skull, rather than the back of the skull, allowing us to walk upright. Most primates are forced over on thier knuckles, because of the location of the spine.
I think its a combination of these things that make us unique, as most of these attributes can be found to some extent in other creatures.

I would say a preference for cooked food. We instinctively recognize the products of the milliard reactions (food cooking) and shun the carcinogenic products if those processes go on for too long. Being able to cook our food allowed us to spread across the globe- most of our staple foods are toxic without first cooking them.
So, a coevolved relationship with fire and food.
Others I've known argue language use, but some species I've looked into would begin to dispute that. They tend to start off defining language as something only humans can do. QED.
We aren't the only ones to use tools, have identifying fingerprints, take baths, or apply medicines.
On the other hand, morphologically, humans are the only one who look like humans (by definition). So we have teeth that no one else has, various bone structures, etc.

God has never been partial in anything or to anyone.Does he ever say that I won't allow the sun to rise today? Or this particular person won't get sunlight today because he has always been evil? NO. God has provided every creature on earth with everything he has created so be it human or animal.Nature is just one thing. It's not God,but we who get greedy in the pursuit of things we desire to have and become partial and even go to the extent of killing people to satisfy our wishes.Humans are the greatest mind on earth.Human beings have got brains, the ability to speak, analyse, interpret and the freewill is one more thing.Who has given all this? God.Was he partial? No! Now,it is upon the person how he/she uses it to assuage something or to accomplish some other thing.Using it in a judicious & limited way is in person's benefit while sometimes,in an attempt to have something, humans end up hurting people.Of course God interferes, for anything which gives freedom comes with authority[to use the power in a virtuous way] & responsibility[the obligation of having the power with us]..It is just accountability[that we wouldn't use it for wrong purposes like killing people] which we think isn't there..But actually it is there. You must have heard about Karma. It is your own Karma which is responsible for what you are today.Anyone who does a bad deed,is DEFINITELY punished for it,if not at that time then later on.But that happens for sure even in after life..as some people believe so.Similarly, anyone who does anything good,is rewarded for it in some or the other way.Life is a virtuous cycle,a mirror. What you get is the reflection of you have done..earlier.So,YES! God does interfere. What do you think? If he is allowing us to have something then wouldn't he be watchful that we don't overuse it?..He might not be able to tell us that "Don't misuse it" but if we do,then he is always there to punish us so it's we who have to be true to ourselves and make a proper use of what we posses. Its the divine law. Just my opinion.. ~Smile :)

Since we've all established that it's the BRAIN that makes us human, then it stands to reason that a fertilized egg isn't a human until it develops a human brain, or at least a human nervous system. So what's the big deal over stem cells? Opponents act like we're killing humans to harvest cells, when in actuality if the cells had differentiated into nerve cells and formed a brain, it would be useless in stem cell therapies because stem cells are undifferentiated.

Not one answer is right, though emucompboy is close. We are human because of the biological species concept. We are reproductively isolated; do not out breed, even at the genus level.

Our brains!!! Our brains are unique to us--no other animal has a brain like ours. Our fingerprints are all unique, as are our footprints. Man walks upright (not on our hands). This is because of our spines. We have opposable thumbs.
Good luck and may God bless you.

Our ability to make a wide variety of noises. No, scratch that, some birds can do that too.
It's not any one ability; it's a combination of things. For an ape, we have large brains and funky feet. There are non-apes with large brains and funky feet though.
So my answer is: nothing.
