I've been trying to factor 6x^2 + x - 2. I've been trying to use the "what multiplies to -2 and adds to to equal x" method but I can't get it to work. I think it's -1 and 2. But when I foil it it doesn't work. maybe I'm completely missing something. If anyone has an easier way to do this then please answer!!

Okay, there's this short story by Stephen King called Strawberry Spring, and the title comes from this event that's like Indian Summer, only it comes in the early spring every ten years or so, and it makes everything warm and foggy for about a week, then the snow comes back heavier and thicker than before. I don't know if this is real or not, because I've never seen it and kinda sounds like King made this up for his story, but I don't live near the ocean, so it might be real but I'm not sure. Please tell if it's a real thing or not (I would appreciate it if you were able to tell me from your own personal experience)

Debbie traveled by boat 5 miles upstream. Because of the 4-mph current, it took her 20 minutes longer to get there than to return. How fast will her boat go in still water?

I live in Southern Alberta, Medicine Hat to be specific and we seen one of these bugs in the basement I'm just wondering if someone can fill me in on what kind it is. (I showed someone else and they said it kind of looks like a cockroach)

A heating element in a stove is designed to dissipate 2600 W when connected to 240 V. Assuming that the resistance is constant, calculate the current in this element if it is connected to 120 V.

How do I solve this? Thanks in advance.

There is water in the MESOSPHERE according to what I have read. So far its just miniscule amounts spread thin.
However;
I read 2 articles about water way up in the Mesosphere (possibly cometary water)
http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1200/is_n8_v152/ai_19731995

"Reservoir of water hides high above Earth - water vapor in mesosphere"

and this article:
http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1G1-20481255.html

"Water, water, way up high.(researchers find increased concentrations of water vapor in the middle layer of the atmosphere)"

How much water can the mesosphere retain before we have a disaster on our hands and it all comes crashing down on us?
If it comes down, will it release the Kinetic energy cause when it entered the atmosphere in the first place at thousands of miles a second,
OR, has that energy already been radiated back into space.

thank you for your answers

Yesterday in Agadir it was 45ºC/113ºF. Today it hit a high of 34ºC/93ºF. Kind of amazing how much it can drop in one day.

It was so dry that by the time I was done hanging the laundry it was ready to be taken off the line!

Step outside and your eyeballs are sucked dry. Yuck!

Is this global warming?

How come it was freakishly cold this past winter here? Is this global cooling? How long have we been keeping track of temperatures worldwide to really know if these temperature changes are abnormal?
