This is more of a scientific question than an obvious reason why (i.e. it might explode).

Just a layperson but it seems there are two open questions that perhaps black holes could answer. I haven't read all the literature so this may be very naive: If black holes absorb everthing into a super dense singularity and now seem present at the center of galaxies, AND, if we don't yet understand the origin of the Big Bang, isn't it possible that these are connected? Couldn't Black Holes be the 'recycling' mechanism of matter from one universe to another?

We have found that if you submerse an egg in vinegar, that the calcium will be "eaten" away, leaving a rubber like "egg" behind. The problem is (as a Mom), how do we make this an interesting science project? Would the hypothesis have to do with acidity?
Should they try other substances and if yes, what would be good ones for me to have on hand?

I don't want to sound like I am doing this for my twin 8 year olds, and I expect them to carry out all of the experiments and develope their own theories, but the school has indicated that they could receive some outside help. Where could my kids find the necessary information to do a good job?

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Four railroad cars, each of mass 2.15 X10^4 kg, are coupled together and coasting along horizontal tracks at speed vi toward the south. A very strong but foolish movie actor riding on the second car uncouples the front car and gives it a big push, increasing its speed to 4.35 m/s south. The remaining three cars continue moving south, now at 2.40 m/s.

The inital speed of the cars is 2.89 m/s
How much work did the actor do in J?

Is all of our technology and medicine actually make humans as a species weaker....if we lose all of that could we survive? I hear that people who take medicine for every little thing, acutally have weaker imune systems that people who allow thier body to do the work itself....Most species will weed out the weaker animals in some way shape or form....are our morals helping or hurting the species, and would only allowing the stronger smarter people breed actually be a benifit for the species...and one final thought. All the domestic animals we raise..we only want to breed for the improvement of the breed(dogs, cows, etc..)...why do most people think this is bad for people....Your thoughts please...

a friend from school farted into a jar and put the lid on it, 5 years ago. the purpose of this was to see if it would still smell in 5 years time. (he was bad for letting off stinkers). but someone stole the jar at a party at his house last weekend so we don't know if it worked. didn't really care before but am now curious. any ideas?

When an aircraft is descending is left reduced and drag increased, please can some check my figures. :)?
a340 at -2degrees angle of attack
wing area 5825ft squared
density ratio= 0.5328
speed 435knots
altitude; 20,000ft
I worked lift out to be
Lift = -559,819.26 pounds
and drag to be
Drag = 43,797.82 pounds

do these sound right, if not can you tell me how to do the coefficient for descening of an aircraft for the values of lift and drag??
