It is mostly sulfuric acid from the sulfur in gasoline. although it is often confused with the tree damage caused from NO2 which is a fertilizer and it burns the tree levers when the tree doesn't have enough water. I worked in the oil fields of west Texas and the plants that gathers the gas there burn the H2S a very deadly gas. When u burn H2S it becomes SO2 and around the plants the vegetation grows just fine. Possible a 100 times more SO2 than found near the Road.
