This is more of a scientific question than an obvious reason why (i.e. it might explode).

There really isn't any scientific reason for this other than it might explode! That is reason enough. if you need a scientific explanation then, how about this; aresol cans are really cans of pressurized gas. When you heat any form of matter its molecules absorb the heat and they begin to expand/ bounce around more and with greater intensity. The expansion increases the pressure of the gas. If the gas becomes hot enough and the pressure becomes high enough then...BOOM...its time to take a trip to the hospital.

Because people are stupid. Like the microwave pizza warning that the product will be hot when you take it out of the oven. Or not to use a hair dryer near water. I think they do it to avoid being sued when some moron hurts him / herself...

you answered your own question but they only really explode when exposed to extream heat, like the back window of your car on a hot summer day

The propellant was CFC that bad inert stuff. now they use butane or propane which is a explosive gas.

the molcules in them expand and that is what causes the can/container to explode
