I need help with some of my Biology homework... these are the questions. I know they're not very hard but...

What is the biosphere? Is it the same as the ecosphere?

What portion of the atmosphere, hydrosphere, and lithosphere permit life to exist?

Define population, community, and ecosystem ecology and explain how they are distungished from one another, yet integrated. Give two examples of each.

My stupid science teacher likes to give us homework that doesn't even have answers in our book or anything then she wont help us. This stupid crossword puzzle has me stumped! I need:
1. structure that converts solar energy into chemical energy
(- - - - - - - - - s -)
2. Tiny structure that performs a specialized function in a cell
(o- - - - - - - -)
3. Large Dark structure that contains the chromosomes
(- - - - - - s)

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated...even if it's just a website with some information.
God Bless

Directions: Use following system of equations for exercises.
{4x - 10y = -3
{.x + 12y = 3.5

1) If you want to solve the system by eliminating the x terms (with addition), by what would you multiply the second equation?

2) If you want to solve the system by eliminating the y terms (with addition), by what would you multiply the first equations?

3) What is the value of x in the solution? enter your answer as a decimal.

4) What is the value of y in the solution? Enter your answer as a decimal.

For the reaction below, Kc = 0.534 at 700 degrees Celsius. A mixture of 0.250 moles of CO and 0.450 moles of H20 are heated to 700 degrees Celsius in a 10.0 L container. Calculate the concentrations of all four species when equilibirium is reached.

H2 + CO2 ---> H20 + CO

okay plz check my answer and do it and see if you get the same if you can. Also I think the significat figs are right...but not sure

first I got the Molarity of CO - .250 moles/10L = .025M and
H20 .450 moles/10L = .045 M

next I did the ICE method to come up with the problem (.025-x)(.045-x)/x^2=0.534

I work this out to get it equal to 0 and it looks like:
.466x^2-.070x+.0011=0

should be be .001125?

I use the solve function on my calculator, And this gives me x=.018 so, if everything is correct then the concentrations should be:

CO = .025-.0183 = .007
H20 = .045-.0183 = .027
H2 =.018
CO2 = .018

How does this look? Just want to know that im doing this right...Im not sure if x should be .018 or .0183 Thanks!

Per Big Bang theory, backround microwave radiation is em radiation which has decreased in frequency rather drastically, from very high (far in excess of x-ray freqs, for example) to very low (i.e. microwave freqs) through an estimated time period of roughly 12-18 billion years (also based on Doppler effect QUITE uniquely and exclusively interpreting or "explaining" observed red-shifts), yet red-shifted light emitted also several billions of years ago from distant galactic starlight "cools" by not even a single wavelength in frequency through all that time, not to mention space? I seriously doubt it, and yet I take my medication and see my therapist regularly, so what gives, Bill Nye, the Science Guy? If experts are trying that hard to avoid plural variables (other than Doppler effect, such as "cooling" or "aging") in a single equation, I certainly don't blame them, but I can't go so far as to excuse them, either, can I?
Indeed, can anyone who sees the emperor's "new clothes"?
