Pregnancy - August 2007

I have not been feeling well for a few days - a bit nauseous, light headed, and some minor upper abdominal pain (similar placement to my gallbladder pain, but not severe, just uncomforable). I thought I just wasn't feeling well, but a co-worker just asked if I could be pregnant. I am sexually active with my fiance, but have been on the pill for years and am good about taking it. I don't feel ready for a baby so I guess I am really just looking for an affirmation that I am just sick and this woman was out of line to even ask.

There are 6 of us who knows about my younger sisters pregnancy. My mom doesnt want us to tell anyone in our family about my sister's situation. I want her to feel happy and that pregnacy and giving birth is a positive thing. Should i still plan a shower? How? and when?

I would like to get Diclectin for morning sickness. It is a Class A medication, the safest one out there. However, it is made in Canada. Can my doctor write a prescription for a Canadian drug so I can purchase it online? Which begs another question, does anyone know a reputable Canadian online pharmacy. Thanks!

I have a doctor's appointment on monday. I don't have an ultrasound scheduled. I believe they are planning to do one at the end of August. Do you think if I talk to my doctor on Monday about having an ultrasound then to see if we can tell the sex that he would do it?

Hi, my daughter is 5.5 mths pregnant, and her friends daughter has just had chicken pox, i know it can be dangerous if my daughter should catch it while pregnant but she has already had it a few years ago, but my question is, if she should go round there is there any chance of maybe her friend getting shingles from her daughters chicken pox and my daughter catching shingles off of her, sounds confusing but i hope you know what im getting at, any help please. If you cant get a positive on a pregnancy test until the egg burrows into your uterus then how do ladies get a positive pregnancy test with an etopic pregnancy? And how do you know if it is an etopic pregnancy?

I may just be paranoid. Probably. I have had some brown discharge and very minor cramps. My breasts have been sore, Ive been tired, I've been sick, all of the normal signs. Well now my breasts are not as sore, I am still tired but Im not really feeling sick. Ive read that when you start to lose symptoms that it could be a problem. I went to the doctor on Tuesday and he told me that I should just continue to eat right and do the things things and I will be going back in a week for an ultrasound. I am only 6 weeks along. what do u think?

I am 9 months pregnant. I woke up at 5 this morning and have not been able to fall back asleep but am EXTREMELY tired. I'm near tears because I want to sleep but can't. I also can not get into a comfortable position no matter where I go. Could this be a sign that baby will be here today or tonight? I've never had any braxton hicks contractions throughout this entire pregnancy. Oh, my due date is in 2 days. And I think MAYBE something is going on down there because when I went poop (sorry) this morning, it kinda felt like a contraction. But then again I don't know what a contraction feels like, but this kinda hurt

Hi. I'm 8 1/2 weeks pregnant and since yesterday morning I've had very bad lower back ache. I have had siatica in the past and this feels just like that. I've not had any cramps or bleeding so I don't think it's a miscarriage or anything (hoping not). Just wondered if anyone else has had this so early on and, if so, what they did about it? Should I be worried or is it normal?

I have all of the symptoms of being pregnant but am not due to come on my period until 1-2 weeks. I took a test today... the clear blue one and it says i am not pregnant however i have taken it way too soon as i havent missed a period yet and it says to be accurate it should be taken the day of your missed period. The last period i had 2-3 weeks ago was very short and came on without any warning and only 2 weeks after the one before. Does this sound like i could be pregnant? Many thanks.

This question is strictly for argumentative purposes with my boyfriend. Here's the situation:
I am 37 weeks pregnant with a due date of August 24th. LMP was Nov. 16. This puts conception date at November 30th. We had unprotected sex (and yes, we were trying to get pregnant) on both November 26 as well as December 2. Which day do you think I was "more fertile?" Both days fall righ in the middle of fertile time but which day would normally be more of a fertile day..before ovulation or after?? Thanks!

A woman that doesn't want to be a mother can have an abortion. If a condom fails a man is forced to be a father. How is this far? He just can't terminate his rights. A woman can say she doesn't know who the father is and get rid of it by adopting it out. Why are men forced to be the responsible onces?

I had sex about two months ago. Two weeks after I had sex I had my period. See i have a cycle in which i have my period one month & the next month I skip. I just recently got my period and its pretty heavy. The only symptom I've had is that my boobs have been sore lately. I took 3 home pregnacy tests and they all resulted in NOT pregnant. 1st plz no rude answers.Ok details to help yall out some Im very mature me and my bf has ben going out since the 8th grade we r seniors now. We love each other spend every moment wit each other.We've always wanted a baby we both are very responsible ppl. I basically have raised my niece whos now 14 months i've ben taking care of her since she was 13 weeks wen she was abandoned so shes lived wit us since i buy everything 4 her n wake up n the nites u name it i do it n hes practically raised his brotha bc his mom really cant do it We've went to classes on pregnancy n responsibilty n have went to Family Life Center to get insite so we are very informed we also read books We tried a couple times now n everytime i started my cycle not 1 time did i get preg. so it makes me feel like somethings wrong or i cant have kids.And We really want one .So me n my bf thought maybe my body isnt ready. could dat be it. Bc I'm only 5'1 106 pounds.And we both feel like we are ready.What do yall think?

I'm seventeen and i cant wait to have my own kids i just don't want them right now...i want to be able to support them financially and give them a good life.....my boobs never hurt before and they are killing me now, i have lower back pain, fatigue, i'm late and i keep feeling like i'm going to start but then i don't, i have headaches out the wazoo, i had cramping real soon after sex which wasn't normal, i started ovulating on the 16th and had sex between the 12 -20 like 6 times so i kno it can't be pms cramps....i just don't know what to do now...i already took a urinary test and it came up neg. but those things don't always tell the truth.... please tell me what do i do?

I guess its either to screen (opportunistic) for breast Ca, or to establish if nipples are ok - if the mum decides to breastfeed??? It just seems strange that they do it - any1 know the real reason why?

I have been doing squats a lot recently, I am 38 weeks and dilated to a three and just today I feel almost like there is something sagging into my vagina (sorry tmi) I have been crampy for the last 24 hours bad back pain and I lost my mucus plug. Can I expect labor soon or could it still be weeks away?? If you are a nurse, doctor, or midwife please say so.

my doctor told me that i can basically pic my due date beacuse im 38 weeks and a day and when im 39 i can pick it and my due date isnt until the 14th but i think i wanna have her on the 7 im not sure about gettin induced beacuse i herd it hurts alot and idk i just want my baby girl out...any suggestions.

I am 5 weeks, 5 days pregnant. I found out I was pregnant the day I missed my period, so I've known for 2 weeks, 1 day. This is my first pregnancy and my husband and I are very excited that we want to tell everyone. Right now I've told family, a few friends, and a few co-workers. He has told people at his work and his family. I've heard about people waiting until 8-12 weeks to tell others because of the dangers during first trimester...and I understand that and worry about it too. BUT, I really want to tell more people because I am excited about it and am tired of keeping it a secret. I have a couple friends who told the moment they found out and they say what the heck just do it when you're ready, but I also know people who waited and tell me to wait. Am I ok to tell others now? I just really want people to know because I want to share my excitement.

I am 17 weeks and 3 days pregnant. My doc scheduled a well-being and growth ultrasound which was today, and my doc said that i will find out the sex today as well. Well, the tech who did the ultrasoud says that the sex is 95% boy, she would not confirm 100%. we think we saw the "boy parts" four times, but again, not a 100 %. My question is, has anyone ever recieved a 100% before 20 weeks? or at an early ultrasound do you hear this percentage of accuracy, and if you were told that the tech was not 100 % sure, did they end up being right? i do not know if i will have another ultrasound, (my first pregnancy) and im just curious what anyone else has experienced in this situaltion. i am happy no matter what sex, i just wanna go buy baby stuff!!! lol :)
