I am 9 months pregnant. I woke up at 5 this morning and have not been able to fall back asleep but am EXTREMELY tired. I'm near tears because I want to sleep but can't. I also can not get into a comfortable position no matter where I go. Could this be a sign that baby will be here today or tonight? I've never had any braxton hicks contractions throughout this entire pregnancy. Oh, my due date is in 2 days. And I think MAYBE something is going on down there because when I went poop (sorry) this morning, it kinda felt like a contraction. But then again I don't know what a contraction feels like, but this kinda hurt

I just really hope that it's time. I'm sick of waiting!

I wouldn't panic until your waters break. Phone your midwife and see what she suggests. She knows you better than a bunch of strangers.

Restlessness is pretty common later in pregnancy, however, I can promise you I couldnt sleep well for a week or so before labor. The only night i did sleep was the one before i went into labor.

I felt like I was getting the flu and PMS all at the same time a few days before labor.

braxton hicks just feel like your stomach is in the middle of a sit up without you actually tell it to do that. It gets tight and tense.

Pains like period cramps are the feeling of your cervix thinning.

Pooping can cause contractions as you are pushing down while doing it.

OK try and relax and get some sleep, first babies often take their time in arriving and you will need all the rest you can get...maybe worrying about it is keeping yo awake...

you will certainly know when the baby is coming

good luck
