to Icareaboutu: I was stabbed before when a knife fell on my arm, at first it didn't hurt that much, but afterward, the next day, it hurts when you touch it.

You never know. Some women have very painful labors, others not so much at all. Like most other things, it just depends on the woman.
My labors are very painful - I was screaming my head off (I think I scared my husband LOL) - but having my three children is worth it a million times over. Why else would women do it over and over again? Obviously, the pain is secondary to the miracle!

The thing about pain is that it is different for every person. Some people have a high tolerance for stabbing/throbbing pains while others have a high tolerance for sharp needle like pains. I always imagined childbirth and contractions as sharp and stabbing, which I cannot tolerate but instead it was more of a throbbing, worst cramping known to man sensation, which I didn't find to be as bad as I had always imagined it would be. It wasn't fun, I wouldn't want to do it every day but it wasn't that bad. I would rather give birth than be shot or stabbed, that's for sure. I was in a car crash once and I would much rather give birth than do that again. If it were so bad women wouldn't keep doing it over and over again.

Never been stabbed or shot but I do know that when in labor you have pain management options and when you're stabbed or shot you don't. Also, if it was really that bad the world would be over due to no population. If you really want children then I'd say the pain is worth it.

I've never been stabbed or shot. :)
I've been in labor for a looong time... that hurt. And then I had a c-section, which hurt for about a month.
I know a woman who had a c-section and then a vaginal birth, and said she was amazed at being about to be up and out 3 days after giving birth. C-sections are major surgery and nothing you should elect to do. PAIN, PAIN, PAIN! I can't emphasize this enough. I remember when they were wheeling me to the recovery room (oh yes, you're awake for the c-section), and the pain as they'd wheel me over the door jambs. Owwwwww! Five days later I could barely walk 10 feet to the bathroom. You don't want a c-section. Trust me.

well labor hurts at the moment but as soon as the baby is out it stops hurting...i've never been stabbed or shot, but those things aren't supposed to happen naturally. i mean, if giving birth was that bad, i think the world population would have died out a long time ago. my baby is 8 weeks old and i'm ready to give it another go...as for being stabbed or shot, a lot of times it will kill you, and not very many people in the US die from labor complications, so i say you are safe to have a baby some day.

What a silly question! Have you been shot or stabbed? If not how would you compare the experiences without actually going through them anyway??? I have never been stabbed or shot but have given birth & it hurts like hell! But atleast at the end of my birthing experience I got a wonderful baby. After being shot I'm not so sure what the reward would be?????

Well, I can't believe you would base your decision over women on the internet....for one I've never been shot or stabbed. But I did go through labor 5 weeks ago and I'm not joking, it was the most painful thing I've ever gone through. But, I would do it again a million times to have my beautiful baby boy Jackson.

I've actually been shot and labor hurts more. I didn't feel the bullet, it was painful after. The labor was painful for hours and then some after.
