I would like to get Diclectin for morning sickness. It is a Class A medication, the safest one out there. However, it is made in Canada. Can my doctor write a prescription for a Canadian drug so I can purchase it online? Which begs another question, does anyone know a reputable Canadian online pharmacy. Thanks!

As long as you have a valid prescription issued by a medical doctor, licensed to practice medicine in the United States, you can order your medications from Canadian pharmacies. However, I regret that I don't know which ones are reputable or have the best service. Good luck in finding one.

I know for sure that a pharmacy in Manitoba takes United States prescriptions. According to the person who answered below, it seems that Ontario may do things a bit differently. However, there are always ways around things. In some cases, these online pharmacies have medical doctors on staff. What you would do is send your prescription, the Canadian doctor would review it, and then he would cosign the prescription with your doctor. That makes everything legitimate.

"Can the pharmacist fill a prescription that was written by a U.S. doctor?
No. Ontario pharmacists can only fill and counsel for prescriptions authorized or signed by a licensed Ontario prescriber (i.e. physician, dentist, etc.)"

(which also has some advice on choosing an on-line pharmacy. I was going to recommend "feelbest.com," which I ordered from when living in the States; it's from a local pharmacy here, but it does not, at quick glance, look like they do prescriptions? Hmm...)

That said... Dilectin = what's in an OTC sleeping pill plus vitamin b6. You can make it yourself, so to speak.

for more on that, or just Google terms like "dilectin vitamin b6 unisom." Loads of discussion on it.

(I feel your pain; I'm a Canadian wanting a drug that's inexplicably only sold in the US, because it's in a better 'pregnancy category' than what's available here...!)
