Swimming can make you not bleed temporarily (just while you're in the water) but it would not delay your period. If it's coming, it will come.

If your period was due and you went swimming then you would start bleeding shortly after being out of the water.

Your period could be delayed by other things like stress....or pregnancy!

If you swim in seawater while expecting your period or on it, please stay away from me. At least in my area despite the number of swimmers sharks are common and you would be a living dinner bell.
