My husband and I got to hear our twins' heartbeats on the doppler on Monday. I'm at 10 weeks (almost 11 now), and we were pleasantly surprised that we got to hear anything at all. I'd heard that it was common not to get a heartbeat on the doppler until 12 weeks or later.
One twin had a heart rate noticeably slower than the other's. According to my husband, who was in a better position to see the doppler, the had an indicator light for heart rates over 100 beats per minute, and the light was glowing.
Being me, I'm still worried about the difference in the two heart rates. The doctor seemed to leave the doppler on the second twin (with the slower heart rate) than she did on the first, but that could be because my husband and I were recording the sound on my MP3 player.
Do I have cause for concern? Or, is some variation in heart rate among fetuses normal?
