I had an ultrasound at 5 weeks 5 days and we were able to pick up the heart beat although it was hard. The heart rate was only 91 bpm. Is that okay? Anyone else have anything like this and have a good outcome?
Doctor didn't seem worried.

I think some of you gals have it confused here. It was on ultrasound that we saw the heartbeat not the doppler that the doctors use in their office. So, in short, one can see a HR on ultrasound early but one can't hear it with the regular doppler until week 10 or so.

It sounds very normal to me, but this is what I found.
Please check out the chart on the website I have provided. The chart shows the week of pregnancy at the bottom and the BPM on the vertical. Most BPM around week 6 are right around 100.
http://www.i-am-pregnant.com/encyclopedia/F/Fetal-Heart-Rate/
"At the end of week 5, the heart rate is about 100 bpm."

I honestly don't have any story's to tell you But i wanted to say that 150 is a good heart beat my sons was always between 120 and 144, my daughters was 140 to 160. And both my kids are here and healthy! I don't know much about the measuring but could it possibly be wrong? When i went to the hospital for spotting ( with my daughter....i have miscarried 5 times and was sure it was another miscarriage) They didn't even find embryo in the sac, and said i was maybe 4 weeks ( would not be possible as i got the positive 6 weeks before I had went to the hospital. so that was way off, 3 days later i went to my normal dr and got an ultrasound and it showed 9 weeks 2 days, so really i don't know what happened with me there but it was a little strange, at that time her heart rate was 140 and they said that it was perfect! so maybe the tech was new and didn't know what she was doing! by the way my little girl was born in december at a healthy 6 pounds and 15 ozs...keep your head up and try not to stress

Never thought you could hear the heart at that age, just makes you wonder how early they truely develope in the wob
i do belive the heart rate are suppose to be high like 100+, get a second opinion about it.
My daughters was 145 but drops to 120. They told me anything below 120 isnt good.
My son (just found out the sex YAY) is 134. Your pulse is in the 90 range, maybe she got yours istead of the baby heart beat.
Congrates on the baby!

most of the time infants run anywhere from 120-180 sometimes, it really varies alot, in different women. I am a former LPN- that's why I answered. If by your next check-up things haven't picked up a bit I might would start asking questions. In fact it is probably jumping the gun a bit-but I lost Twin-Girls, so I am quite a bit paranoid at anything,I probably shouldn't have answered your question, because I would not want to frighten you at all, but I might would check with another Doctor anyway. I'm just so paranoid from loosing 2 that I can't help it. Take Care of yourself -I'm sure you are but they are Precious and I don't take chances. No Way!!God Bless and I Pray everything goes Great and I'm sure it will.

I have to think that they picked up your heart rate rather than the baby's. As the baby's heart starts to develop at 5 weeks (begins to divide into chambers, pump blood and beat). However anything is possible.
At 6 weeks the baby's heart starts to divide into right and left chambers and is beating about 100 to 130 beat per minute and blood is circulating through its body.
Best of luck & Congratulations!!

Probably nothing to worry about. From what I understand, it starts out slower and then increases.
But, I just found this article, and it is a little troubling. I would talk to your doctor about it.

So sorry. I really don't mean to worry you. Believe me, I have recently heard stories where a doctor has told a woman that she is going to miscarry, and the baby ended up being fine! So please do not panic!

This is very slow but it is also very early. They should do a follow up ultrasound in a couple of weeks. You need to request one is they haven't suggested it , just for your own peace of mind!! Good luck! I hope everything works out. Try not to stress too much!!! Take care!!

to be fair, the heart rate is usually present at 10 weeks, so if you heard it already at 5, then i would say thats a good sign. congrats.
