I know this girl who says she got pregnant with this guy and he went out there way after her conception date on one of those pregnancy calculators. She supposedly conceived on the 29th of september 06 and he never went out there till the 8th or 9th of october 06.

It's entirely possible to get pregnant. The pregnancy calculators don't take into effect all the possibilities and differences in womens bodies.

I could see how it would be the other way round, her falling preg days after the sex(very fertile sperm will linger around for up to 5 days waiting for the egg) but i can't see how you could fall pregnant before you have had sex!

You can get pregnant anytime. There is no safe time, only times when it may be slightly more or slightly less likely.
