Pregnancy - December 2006

I don't usually take any nasal decongestants, but seriously, I couldn't breathe, and my doc said that it was okay to take while pregnant.

It's made me a nervous wreck, though, and I can't sleep. My heart feels like it's slamming up against my chest wall, and my chest hurts a little.

Has anyone else had this happen while pregnant? Was it just a side-effect, or was there anything really wrong?

My Dr. told me to take tylenol and just be patient but I've been 3cm and in excruciating pain for 3days (almost 4 now). I had vicodin (previous rx) and it worked for about 30 min but now the vicodin has no effect on me other than making me a little drowsy. I was told that I can't be induced due to 2 previous uterine surgeries. She also told me that she'd break my water when I got to 5 cm. The pain is driving me nuts nad effects my ability to function. I've long since lost my mucus plug.

I am 5 months pregnant. My partner's friends are having a pool party for Christmas eve (live in Australia) and have invited us. I know there will be lots of skinny girls in bikinis and i am not very confident at the best of times. I am of average weight but since being pregnant have a lot of cellulite and uneven tones in my skin. Are there any "quick fixes" to make me feel more confident in myself?

I went to the OB today and apparently, I am 5 weeks pregnant. I took the home pregnancy test on Saturday, which came out positive, only to get into a car accident on Saturday evening. Luckily, I feel fine. No broken bones or bruises, externally, at least. The fact that miscarriages are so common is causing me to stress out! I know I shouldn't stress, because it's bad for the baby, but being that it's my first, I can't help it. I used to be extremely tired all day, even after sleeping 10 hours each night before, but this tiredness seems to have disappeared the past few days. No morning sickness. Only sore breasts when touched. I don't have any cramping, either, so I'm trying to rule out a miscarriage. Is it possible to have miscarriages without the cramping? I've heard that it could take up to 3 weeks before you start to bleed out the miscarriage. I had one slight cramp yesterday, but it only lasted for a second, so I'm guessing that's just my body stretching. Am I being too paranoid?

She got a triple test for a baby that the hospital thought was 18 weeks old, but was really 17 weeks old. She tested positive on this test with a 0.83% chance of Down Syndrome. Do these results really differ from the 17th week to the 18th week?

Hello All & Thanks (Upfront). I just went 2 court today & got results of a paternity test (father denied child as his own) & then I was awarded child support -once proven he was the father. I live in N.J. & am currently unemployed after being put on bed rest & then "let go" from my position- once I was not able 2 return back 2 work (due 2 the baby & complications). The place of employment only hires in the spring, so I'm patiently waiting for positions 2 open up (Because I'm trained in my field of work). My question 2 you is, will I get awarded more in child support once I start work in the spring? A friend of mine said yes, but I'm not 2 sure as 2 why?
Example. He now makes $1100. *before taxes a week & I make 0.00
When I start working I'll make about $800. - $1100. a week before taxes & he will be making the same $1100. a week.
I dont understand & honestly not even sure if it's the case, but if so - why by me working will I get more in support? Due 2 daycare expenses or what??

The exact day of my ovulation day I had a brown tinge to my discharge, my period isnt supposed to come almost 2 weeks after my ovoulation date. JW if that is normal when you ovulate or what it could be? Thanks so much, happy and safe holidays to you all!

I calculate the first day of my last cycle to give me my conception date and due date. With everything that happened that month I remember well because I was getting married in a few wks and had my iud removed the may 2nd. So we could try for a baby on our honeymoon. I started on my period on may 3rd. We thought what's 12 days till the wedding to go ahead and try? Bottom line is that I know my dates, could the sono be wrong? The reason I ask is i thought the babies head faces down at 33 weeks. Dr says I am 31 weeks but sono showed the babies head is down. What's the rule? I think the baby will be here by 12/31-Feb 6th Dr says Feb 22nd. Can I trust my own dates?

I'm due in April and I'd really like to have this baby without an epidural. This is my 3rd, so I have some ideas about how to handle pain. I was wondering if anyone was willing to share their non-epidural birthing stories. Totally natural? If you had some form of pain relief, what was it? Love to hear your story. Gory details welcome. Ok so im 35 weeks pregnant and i have a really really bad head ache what are some things i can do to get rid of it, with out taking tylenol etc... doctor says i can take it as long as there is no kodien in it, but i dont like to take pills especially while pregnant, the only pills i take are vitamins for the baby... so any suggestions??

does the cramping feel like AF is coming??? or is it different?? I have some breast tenderness not too bad but mainly on the sides of boob!! the nipples feel a little sore(which is strange cuz i barely have sensation, after having a breast reduction) and i have a very mild cramps, mt Af is due for fri/sat!!! any suggestions would help!!
