I calculate the first day of my last cycle to give me my conception date and due date. With everything that happened that month I remember well because I was getting married in a few wks and had my iud removed the may 2nd. So we could try for a baby on our honeymoon. I started on my period on may 3rd. We thought what's 12 days till the wedding to go ahead and try? Bottom line is that I know my dates, could the sono be wrong? The reason I ask is i thought the babies head faces down at 33 weeks. Dr says I am 31 weeks but sono showed the babies head is down. What's the rule? I think the baby will be here by 12/31-Feb 6th Dr says Feb 22nd. Can I trust my own dates?

well just like you i know exactly when my last period was because it happened to fall on my moms b day!which was may 2.my due date is feb 6.my ultrasound said it would be feb 8 so they didnt change it.however there is a reason they add 2 weeks to every pregnancy its cause they cant tell the exact date you concieved!your baby could easily be here in early feb or not until the end!theres no sure way to tell when that date will be!congrats and good luck!

They may know better then you would, but when I was preg with my second, they sent me for 3 ultrasounds. One was the regular one, check up, the 2nd was because he wasn't sitting where he needed to, and they wanted to make sure that nothing was wrong, and the 3rd was because they thought he was to small, because I wasn't as big as I should have been.

So doc's don't ALWAYS know everything. That's like them sayin someone won't live past age 7, and they're still alive and kicking at age 29!

Have they determined that you only have one? If you're having more then one, then they could turn down sooner. It doesn't happen often, but every once in a blue moon, one baby could be blocking another. It's happened before, so I don't doubt for a second that it will happen again! Have them double check the number of babies in your belly lol, just to be one the safe side!!

I am a nurse but I would tell you that if you are very certain about your dates, then follow it. Sonograms estimations are not 100% ACCURATE. I had proven it myself. I was sure of my dates plus the fact that I am a nurse I knew all the calculations but 2 out of my 4 pregnancies, sonogram gave different ages which the doctor insisted on the dates I was suppose to deliver ( a month more than my calculation). I delivered nearly on my calculations and not per sonogram dates.

About the head, it usually fixes to be te heads down at 36 weeks but again my 1 pregnancy had the baby kept changing position till the week of my expected delivery, it had her head down days before I delivered, usually very uncommon.

Good luck!

What color is the blood, dark red or bright red? If its bright red.. go BACK to the ER and say your still bleeding and they should try another ultrasound. It took me 3 ER visits to get any answers. I had a miscarriage earlier this year and it HURTS. Best thing you should try is BED REST if the ER sees no changes. It could be that you walking around and such could have shifted something in your uterus and if you sit or lay in bed, it could have a chance to heal. Due to you possibly still having Baby A your cervix would have closed up secure so nothing could get in or out. Be aware of any cramping and monitor how badly your bleeding if your soaking a pad an hour then you should mention that to the ER and your OB. Btw.. people who say hateful things.. dont know the old saying of "if you cant say anything nice, dont say anything at all" its the internet.. trolls live here.. dont take it personaly

Because you had just had your IUD taken out, maybe youi ovulated late. I would think that it would be simalar to going off the pill and sometimes it takes a bit to go back on track, so maybe your dates are off because you ovulated 2 weeks late. Also when was your first Sonogram? if it was later like around 20 weeks then its not as accurate anyways. The earlier the better.

The rule is:

The first day of your last menstrual cycle + 1 year - 3 months + 1 week = your due date

Here's an example:

October 1st was the first day of my last menstrual cycle
1 year makes it October 1, 2007
subtract 3 months is July 1, 2007
add one week is July 8, 2007

And, July 8, 2007 is my due date!!

I have to say that sonograms are pretty accurate, I think you need to trust your doctor. The question about the baby being faced down I have to say my baby was faced down about 30 weeks sometimes they tend to turn early.

yes you can..and an the results they give you from an ultrasound are only guesstimates..it can be that the baby is measuring a lil small for gestational dates so that is why they put you at 31 weeks..but it is only 2 weeks off fom yours,I wouldnt worry so much anyhow cause your baby will come when it is good n ready..good luck to you..& congrats!

Trust you doctor. Babies can turn and have their heads down as early as 28 weeks.
