I'm 35 weeks and measuring 37 weeks too. I am going home for the holidays. It's an 11 hour trip but I discussed it with my doctor and she couldn't see why not. Yes there may be a chance you could go into labor but most towns and cities along the way have hospitals. If you are having a normal pregnancy and no complications it should be safe for you to travel in your 3rd trimester. Just don't be the one driving and make sure to stop every two hours to get out and walk (you don't want to get blood clots in your legs). I wasn't going to go home but since this might be my only chance to go home before May and my family wants to have a baby shower for me, I also really could use the baby stuff (I'm on a limited income), I decided to go. I would talk to your doctor see what she/he thinks. Your doctor can better advise you than anyone. Good luck and Congrats!!

Depends on how far your going and how your getting there.
Most airlines won't let you on a plane at 35 weeks. And, for some women traveling in a car triggers contractions. When my sister travelled at 24 weeks she stopped the car every hour to get out and walk. Also, you can develop blood clots of you sit idle in a car or plane too long.
If it's a plane ride definately not.
If it's a long car ride definately not.
But, if it's a short ride with 1 hour breaks sure!

Depends on how far you are traveling. A long car ride or plane trip would be very uncomfortable plus you wouldn't want to go into labor during your flight. If it's not too far it shouldn't be a problem as long as you know where you'll go in case you do go into labor. You might want to map the hospitals along the way and near your family.
Ultimately, you'll want to check with your OB to see what their thoughts are.

If you want to travel I think that you should take it up with your OB.
My biggest fear of traveling that late in pregnancy would probably be going into labor and having your baby in the middle of no where on the side of the road in a car, with no cell-phone signal.
I think they tell you to not travel just to be safe. Becuase you could probably give birth at any time starting now. If you have your heart set on going though, I would at least tell your OB whats going on.
Good luck!

Depending on how far, I would stay close to home.
If you go into premature labor or have a problem, you dont want to worry about the drive to the hospital.
I know, you'll miss the visit but, you have many years ahead (God willing) to see the family...with baby! :-)
Better safe than sorry!

I would not go. Your baby can come at any time and you do not want to be miles away from your doctor if you go into labor.
Airlines will not let you travel once you've hit either your 7th or 8th month, depending on the airline.

Did they measure you w/ the measuring tape from your pubic bone up? B/c if you even have a little bit of tummy fat over your muscle you will meausre further along than you are.
I'd say go. It's the holidays!!! If you go into labor, hey, at least you'll be w/ your family! ;)

it is not recommended to travel long distances such as in an airplane or hours in a car after the 7th month.
