She got a triple test for a baby that the hospital thought was 18 weeks old, but was really 17 weeks old. She tested positive on this test with a 0.83% chance of Down Syndrome. Do these results really differ from the 17th week to the 18th week?

The results will not vary. You have to remember that the test is partly based on the mother's age.I had it done and would never do it again. I was 38 and pregnant so I agreed to the test. It came back with an increased chance for Down's as well. Then I went for a Dopler sonogram and everything was fine.Of course, I spent two weeks worrying for nothing. We had already decided to take whatever God gave us and love the baby, no matter what. I refused the amnio and the gestational diabetes tests after that and my son is five and perfectly normal.

No, that's fine. The normal range to get this blood test done is between 15-18 weeks gestation.

If a woman's triple screen results reveal low levels of AFP and high levels of estriol and hCG, she has an increased risk of having a baby with Down syndrome. However, there are many false positives. She should follow up with a Level II ultrasound and possibly an amniocentesis if she and her doctor feel it's warranted.

I have never had a tripple only a quad test. But it also tests for downs & no it does not matter her gestational age, she should now be given the choice of a amnio to tell her if the baby does in fact have downs, however amnios have been known to cause late term miscarriages

do exactly no longer hardship approximately it. seem at photos of what your infant appears like at present interior the womb. i'm useful your infant would be basically as healthful through fact the single interior the photos. remember this, some people pass by way of their total being pregnant without problems. yet it relatively is uncommon, so if something is incorrect in somewhat, it must be no longer something in any respect.
