breast tenderness was the very first sign that i had when i was pregnant- i think it started after just a couple of weeks. It lasted almost the entire first trimester and then I didn't notice it quite as much. Good luck and congratulations!

Honey, I hate to say this, but it can last the entire pregnancy, and the week before, of and after your period. It's a pain in the @$$, or rather the chest lol, but I've found, and this might sound odd to you, that if you find some sort of stimulation, it subsides for a while.
You could also try wearing a bra that's just a tad to small, to give you extra support. That's what I had to do. But the only way I found to get relief that way, was to wear one that pretty much only covered the essential part of the breast. So I was complaining that they hurt, and complaining that the bra was WAAAYYY to small! lol
You could also try taking a warmer then warm bath, and massaging them. Not playing with them, although it might not be a bad idea to get someone to, just not stimulate. That keeps my husband happy, and gave me relief.
If it gets to unbearable, talk to your doc. They usually have good tips.

i never had breast tenderness until i discovered i was pregnant at 6 weeks and then it lasted the whole pregnancy.
however every mom is different so you may or may not have tenderness that long.

Sore breasts was my first sign of pregnancy...a few days before my first missed period. I can't remember how long it lasted...but it was all worth it in the end. Now my son is almost 14 and taller than I am!

I'm 12 weeks and mine are still tender. Definately not as bad as they initially were. However, I was also nursing at the time...so it was much worse!

Mine got really bad around the 3 month mark, then were ok till I started leaking colostrum. From what I've heard it varies from person to person.
