my daughter is a month old today and since we brought her home she refuses to sleep anywhere but her carseat. Her dr says this is ok but now that shes a month old we are wanting to get her used to sleeping on her back. When we put her in the bassinet she starts screaming right away even if shes asleep when we put her in there. We have tried the scream it out approach for as long as 30-45 minutes but by then we give up. Please any sugguestions you may have will be appreciated. Thanks for your time.

My boyfriend and I are wondering what our future children could look like. What are our chances of having a blonde child or a dark-haired child?

I have blue-black (yes it's very dark) hair. Both of my parents and grandparents have/had black hair. I was also born with a head full of black hair at birth.

My boyfriend has dark blonde hair. His mother has light blonde hair and his father has brown-black hair. All of my boyfriend's brother and sisters have brown hair. He was born bald.

My baby will be 4 weeks old on Thursday (January 25th). She has slept with her daddy and I every night since she came home from the hospital. I do not want to get a habit started. And, I want her to learn from an early age that people don't always get what they want. I did not do that with my 5 year old son. And, he was very spoiled...now he's a brat that will not listen to anyone...any helpful hints or tips at how to get a baby to sleep and most of all stay asleep in her own crib...

Our baby sleeps fine on her stomach or side, but will rarely fall asleep while on her back. I'd be fine if she slept even for an hour or two on her back, but she just fusses and grunts and makes the occasional choking sound.

We put her on her stomach a couple times and she slept fine. Generally she sleeps fine in her car seat as well, but when we put her in the crib, on her back she won't settle.

Every SIDS site says you have to make sure to get the kid to sleep on their back, not on their side, not on their stomach. So, i'm wondering if there are techniques people have used to get the baby to sleep on their back.

i had a baby back in september i have been breastfeeding exculsively since lately he has been wanting more than i can pump. does anyone have any suggestions how i can build my mild supply? i do give him cereal not in his bottle i was told never to do that by the pediatrician, and i started stage 1 foods, bananas, but he drinks 20-24oz of milk while i'm at work, and i try to pump more but i'm not getting enough for him. when i'm home it's fine because he can nurse on demand but when i'm away from him he finishes all the milk i have expressed and he is hungry until i get home. i really don't want to give him formula i am very pro breastfeeding i told his caretaker to give him rice cereal so he won't want as much milk but he still wants the 20 oz of milk even with the cereal and bananas any suggestions?

My 9 month old daughter has a strong liking/ disliking of the food. She doesn't like the taste of formula at all- I tried various ways to supplement with formula ( switching one brand to another, mixing with cereals and fruits etc. ) from her 5 months but in vein. She simply keeps her mouth shut or makes some funny posture to throw that up. Now it's time for me to go back to work. I'm anxious enough how to tackle this oncoming feeding problem. She's taking some solids ( vege, fruits, cereal) and water , but still milk is the most important food for the few more months. I'm concern much because I think I'm drying up too. She has a leaner body though she is very active. Please help.

One of my dearest friends delivered her baby boy last night at only 27 weeks pregnant. He weighs 2 lb 2 oz and 14" long. She had him at a large hospital and is in the NICU. Has anyone gone thru this and do you know the odds of his survival? This is her and her hubby's first baby and I am so afraid for her. He is so so tiny. Thanks.

I admit, we do hold my son alot, but thats because I just can't stand to put him down, I know its bad..but my pediatrician said you cannot spoil a newborn. Anyways, he is getting better with sleeping in his bed, but at first when we lay him down, he gets so mad he poops and spits up. He wakes up immediately when we lay him down, so we change him, lay him back down, and let him fuss for a few minutes..but then he screams, so we pick him up, and he falls asleep in our arms..well he's getting 2 teeth on the bottom left that are going to come in any day, and 2-3 on the right side, that will be in shortly after the others. I need ideas on how to get him to sleep better, we try to swaddle him, he kicks the blanket off, we try everything..and we give him a teething toy, and he loves it drools everywhere, puts him to sleep, i've tried orajel, but whenever we lay him down he cries..we're getting very sleep deprived (which we knew would happen) and it's getting hard we knew what was coming tho..

I just wanted suggestions on how people can get their babies to entertain themselves. I am not abandoning her or neglecting her for God's sake. I have an eight year old and we tried for six years to have another baby and we are lucky to have her!!! I purchased the sling so I could carry her with me...she prefers my arms....I asked a question and someone says why did I bother to have her anyway....How hurtful are you trying to be!!!!!!!!!!!!! I do set a timer for five minutes and put her down and do a quick spurt of housework....believe me I know that the housework can wait....I am just trying to get the necessities down like laundry and dishes.....those are the only things that I want to get done....and yes I do supplement my breastfeeding with formula...a choice that I have made based on my own circumstances....I love my baby and woman you are vicious!!!!!
