We use Gerber cereal, at $2.39 a box at our local Acme. A box lasts us about 2 weeks.
We use Beechnut jarred foods. When we buy it in bulk, we get 24 jars for about $10 from our local warehouse club. We get it from the local Acme when it's on sale, 10 for $5 (usually we have a coupon so it becomes 10 for $4). If you save the labels from the Beechnut foods, you can send them in (48-96 at a time) and Beechnut will send you coupons.
When our daughter was only eating the jarred foods, she would have half a jar of fruit with her cereal at breakfast, one jar of veggies for lunch, one jar of dinner for supper.
We have only used stage two foods for our daughter. We asked our pediatrician about stage three foods. He said that by the time she was old enough to be eating stage 3 foods, she was old enough to eat most of the foods we eat and that stage 3s are a waste of money so we've never bought them.
Of course, this is if you want to buy prepared foods for the baby. You can always make your own. How much it will cost to make your own baby foods will depend on what you want to feed the baby and how much those foods will cost in your area. I've posted a link below to a helpful site about making your own baby food.
Good luck!
ETA: We looked over labels very carefully before deciding what brands to use. When comparing the Gerber jarred foods to the Beechnut jarred foods, we found that the Beechnut ingredients were very basic while the Gerber foods were more complex. We chose Beechnut because it had little to no preservatives and very simple ingredients. Just my two cents.

It depends on where you live!! You can look up the prices on the internet. To save money: you can go to discount stores such as Save-a-lot or Aldi's!!
Boxes of baby cereal here in Indiana cost about $1.09 box. And baby foods are about 59 cents a jar. This is at Save-a-lot.

Depends, baby food is anywhere up to $1. Cereal depending on the type, whether rice, barley and the other brand may run up to $2.
When my son was on baby food, I found that Beech Nut was more reasonable than other brands. Also, the organic and fancy baby food varieties will cost more. I started clipping coupons and stayed informed about sales at the local grocery store and stocked up. You may also find that stores, including Target will clearance the baby food when it is closer to the expiration date or a specific brand is discontinued.
Last thing, to save money you may also want to look into making your own baby food. I found recipes on the internet and it is very easy. I was able to save on the fruits and veggies by doing them myself, basically cook the veggies or fruit and puree with blender. Then you pour it into ice cube trays which generally, one cube is equal to about one ounce. They defrost really easily in the microwave.

Walmart- Gerber stage 2 veggies and fruits and dinners 2 for $0.94 box of Gerber cereal I believe it is $1.94. Food is very cheap basically anywhere. I wouldn't recommend BeechNut because it has preservatives. I always check at the big lots and the .99 cent stores because I find snacks and foods even cheaper. Of course no matter where you buy it from always check the expiration dates.

Baby food never cost me a penny. I just wiz up the family left overs with a bar blender and froze any excess. This gives baby a variety of tastes and means I know exactly whats in his/her meals.

No one can actually give you a true answer to your question! You can go to 10 different grocery stores in your area and not have them be the same price. Depending on where you shop they are more expensive or less expensive!
